This Week.....

Alo everyone, how are you all!?
This week has been crazy and not all at the same time!

We had our first intercambio this week. Hermana Hardy and I ended up staying in our area with another gringa in her training too, so the three of us just hoofed it around Perú. Luckily, Heavenly Father blessed Hermana Hardy with the gift of tongues and blessed me with the gift of remembering where everyone lives, so... we would call that a success!

We had meetings with President Porter this week too, and it was much needed. We spent time talking about how God doesn't give up on His children. Even when they turn their backs on Him, He continues to work in their lives. I was also thinking about the Savior and how, during His life on earth, He was perfect, so of course, He would be perfect at saving us too.

Let me tell you about one of my favorite people... his name is Ricardo... he got baptized two weeks ago... and he's a different person now... yesterday, he got the priesthood, and we get to go to the temple with him on Friday! It's truly a blessing to have been able to see his progression in such a short amount of time.

The members in our ward are amazing. We are teaching this familia that has probably seven daughters, and four of them are YW's age. So the YW have been inviting them to all of their activities and getting to know them. Well, it was one of the girls' birthdays this last week, and the YW quite literally threw her a party. Now, not only does this girl have a baptism date, but she has a whole group of friends who are excited for her to be baptized, and that makes the whole difference.

We also crashed the elders' wedding that day. :)

We heart-attacked some people's doors on Valentine's Day... just needed to bring a little Utah love to Perú.

I've officially been in Perú a month and had to give a talk yesterday... it's pretty weird to imagine being anywhere else. I love this little country, and I love these beautiful people!

I have been reading in Alma this week, and something that really stood out to me is in chapter 19.
It's when King Lamoni is still asleep, and everyone thinks he is dead, but his wife doesn't think so. She asks Ammon, and he tells her that he is not dead, but he sleepeth in God, and on the morrow, he shall rise again. And she wholeheartedly believes him. He says to her, "Blessed art thou because of thy exceeding faith; there has not been such great faith among all the people of the Nephites." After I read this, it made me think about how this was such an amazing opportunity for her to grow her faith. She could have not asked, and the King would have still risen, but because she asked and because Ammon recognized her faith, it allowed her to put her faith in something bigger than herself. Anyways, I just loved that.

I hope you all have the best week! Know that I love you!
